Arrival at the Airport
All flights to Athens arrive at the Athens International Airport.
Regardless of flight origin all passengers arrive at the Main Terminal Building at the Arrivals Level. Upon landing follow the airport signs that read “Arrivals,” to go through Passport Control (for non-Schengen arrivals) and pick up your luggage. Non-EU passport holders may need to go through customs.
Getting to the Hotel
Attendees will have to arrange their own transportation from the airport to the city and the conference hotel. You can make the trip by taxi or public transportation.
It is recommended that you take a taxi to President Hotel. Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of the Arrivals Level. The fare will be whatever the taxi's meter indicates plus some standard charges.
A typical fare from the airport to President Hotel is:
- Day: €38-40
- Night (between 11:00 pm – 5:00 am): €45-50.
There is no need to reserve a taxi in advance. There is usually a long line of taxies waiting at all times and the queue is strictly honored.
Taxi drivers to do not accept credit cards and will only accept euros. Please make sure you have enough cash with you.
From the airport take the M3 train (the blue line) and get off at Panormou station. The hotel is a short walk away (less than 10 minutes). The metro is only available from 6:00 am to midnight. (Map of the Athens Metro).
From the airport take the X95 bus and get off at Karanika station. Ask the bus driver to tell you where to get off: Karanika is the stop after the Erikos Dinan Hospital.
